A large bag of Italian ladyfingers, called Savoiardi, are extremely versatile. The Italian ladyfingers originate in the Piedmont's "Val d'Aosta", once a part of the Savoy Duchy; hence, the name. These crisp-edged, delicate pastries, can be the base for tiramisu, a French charlotte or even a strawberry shortcake. And they’re also wonderful by themselves with tea or coffee. A 17.5 oz. bag of Savoiardi contains five individually-wrapped packages of one dozen each. One bag is enough to make a large tiramisu, serving 12. (There’s a tiramisu recipe on the package).
